The Tissue Viability Society continues to host popular free regional study days around the UK. Experts in tissue viability deliver informative lectures, which are supported by a small company exhibition.
Usually a study day comprises two half-day sessions with the focus on pressure ulcer prevention and wound assessment, but this can be tailored to meet local needs and cover any aspect of tissue viability and wound management. These days are useful for all disciplines.
Recent study days have included: Information on pressure ulcer prevention and management, General wound care, Managing wound infection and Selecting dressings and therapies.
All the organization for the study day is arranged by the Tissue Viability Society.
The TVS’s study days are run by Maureen Benbow, Senior Lecturer at the University of Chester. Maureen was formerly a Tissue Viability Nurse for 14 years covering primary, secondary care and care homes. She is also ex-chair of the Tissue Viability Society and current secretary of the North West Network of Tissue Viability Nurses. She has written widely about tissue viability and related subjects, and regularly presents study days and conferences.
Currently Regional Study Days are scheduled for:

2nd September 2011 Halton Hospital, Runcorn (to be confirmed)
